PADM 602 Sample Syllabus

PADM 602 OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course students will have:

1. a. Demonstrated understanding of various personal values and styles which affect administrative performance.
b. Identified their own personal values and styles and how they impact their own work performance.

2. a. Demonstrated understanding of the role of an administrator and the skills necessary to be a good administrator.
b. Demonstrated they have evaluated their own administrative skills, identified ones to improve, and documented the improvement.

3. Demonstrated they have evaluated their time management, identified their time management weaknesses, developed a plan to overcome those weaknesses, begun work on that plan.

4. Demonstrated they have analyzed their work goals and developed objective and meaningful measures of both the quantity and quality of their work accomplishments.

5. Demonstrated their ability to use standard charts to facilitate basic management functions such as planning, decision making, problem identification, etc.

 6. a. Demonstrated they have 
a) evaluated the dynamics of a group to which they belong and 
b) can explain the dynamics of that group and identified ways to make it work better;
b. Demonstrated they have
a) evaluated an imperfect relationship with a colleague, friend, or family member, and 
b) developed a plan to improve that relationship.

7. Demonstrated the ability to make an effective oral presentation.

8. Demonstrated ability to be proactive in their learning.
